Linea 2 > S.Maria presso San Satiro
Saint Satyr was the broche of Saint Ambrose.
He was dedicated the original church, built by Archbishop. In 1242 a young man stabbed a portrait representing Jesus child and the Virgin, the chronicles tell us that once blood gushed from image it. Was rebuilt by Bramante and by Galeazzo Maria Sforza, between 1476 and 1482 to house the portrait and the sacrilegious dagger.
Lovers of art and religious devotees come to this church because Bramante failing to make available the 9.70m for the construction of the apse, he managed to elude a game perspective view using the 97cm available. Despite the small space was able to build a building whit three naves, with a barrel vault in the central, complete with a domed roof, where the aisles meet the transept. And the sanctuary… here’s a perspective game of an indescribable beauty.
